I consider painting to be an escape from reality.  It puts my mind at ease while I sketch or paint a landscape, a sunset, a reflection on a pond.  A form of meditation is another way to put it.  To create a scene of beauty out of nothing but paper, water and paint.....to see the most majestic sight and to put it on canvas.

       Watercolor, acrylic and sketch are the medias I enjoy the most.  I've only recently begun to expose my work to the public's eye even though I have been painting for years.  Lighthouses are one of my favorite topics to paint about because of their symbolism.  Alone against the storms, standing guard,  shining the beacon of light to guide us home.

        Painting other scenes of nature, especially with a pond, are just as fun as seascapes.  To capture a ray of sun behind a distant treeline while it reflects off the calm water really puts your mind at ease.  To have these awesome sights forever on paper encourages me to paint more.

         I have a small area set aside in my house for a studio and paint whenever I get the spare time.  I hope to attend festivals this coming summer and meet many artists like myself.  I live in upstate New York with my family who give me the support and love to continue with my hobby.
